I haven’t really rested since we wrapped the main cast and I’m a bit crispy. Since I can, I’ll be taking the next couple of days off and then attacking the rough cut with semi-fresh eyes. However, before I did that, I really wanted to get something done so I put a concentrated effort into doing the first trailer. Enjoy that while I’m hibernating! :D
STELLA BUIO actor Lance Flint was interviewed by Char Hardin recently for her movie review blog. Go check it out!
In today’s behind the scenes photo, we’re shooting Stella Buio’s (Linnea Quigley) arrival at Julie’s (Melanie Robel) house.
The batteries on the JVC GY-HM100u are kinda crappy…just FYI. :D
I’m working on the teaser trailer now and hope to have it done tonight.

In this photo, we’re filming Laura D’Anieri’s death and resurrection.
We wrapped principal photography on Stella Buio last night! This has been my most complicated project to date with some unanticipated things, but that’s what filmmaking is about, right? Last night’s shoot went off beautifully and I’m really looking forward to launching myself into post!

Today’s behind the scenes photo is of myself (Lori Bowen) setting up Linnea Quigley’s close up (I had plans for that lazy Susan, but I decided to not use them because the only way I could get the height I needed was to use books (even my smallest, steadiest tripod was too tall) and the camera was very unstable. Made me a sad panda, but oh well.

Sound and vision.
On the left is me (Lori) the writer / director / cinematographer / editor. In the middle is Janine, my boom op / sound recordist. Next to her is Wheat, my lighting guy and assistant camera.
Everyone knows that Picasso was an incredible painter, but did you know he experimented with photography as well?
My brother and I made this video a couple of weeks ago. He came up with the song and lighting the organ on fire and I did the rest. As fire is unpredictable, I didn’t exactly have enough coverage and came up with the VFX shots thanks to some tutorials on VideoCoPilot.com. For my first try at that sort of thing, I think they came out pretty well. :D
Today’s Stella Buio behind-the-scenes photo (“a mother and son moment”) is of Laura D’Anieri (as Greta) and Lance Flint (as Frederick) watching a movie. I think it was The Hangover. Please don’t judge them too harshly, it was pretty late…
