THANK YOU CRISTINA!

Hugest of huge thanks to my Italian Stallion, Cristina Paolicchi, for supporting Stella Buio! Dude, seriously. Thank you.

I’m hard at work on the millions of things that have to be done before I can make Stella happen so the vlogs are a bit light right now, but here’s the one that people seem to like the most, wherein I make a darn fool of myself.

STELLA BUIO vlog 3: Prepping and testing the "punching a hole in the door" effect.

Today’s Vlog: There’s a part in the movie where a hole is punched into a door and my brother, Shawn Bowen, was kind enough to figure out how to freakin’ do it… This was a proof-of-concept so it’s not supposed to look pretty until the day.

You can still donate to the cause! http://igg.me/p/78472?a=55968 or you can email me at Kimyoo . Films @ gmail . com if you’d prefer to donate anonymously or offline!

Revisiting Kimyoo Films poster art: The Short Films of Lori Bowen

This isn’t poster art so much as DVD art, but I wanted to share it, too.

God, “The Short Films of Lori Bowen” sounds so pretentious, but it’s full of simple truthiness, too. This limited run of DVDs was a collection of my work up to just after I made the music video "Sine" for World Collision. I quite like the cover art, if I may say so myself…

Revisiting Kimyoo Films poster art: JustUs

I made a lobby card / British quad style poster for this, plus, it was hard to chose just one image to encapsulate the story. I learned from my mistake on Anathema and did not get a bazillion postcards and posters. I got just enough of each, even reordering postcards at one point for a festival. I love posters like this, it’s eye catching, but it’s a nightmare for festivals to display.

I don’t have this film online yet, but you can click here to watch the trailer.

Revisiting Kimyoo Films poster art: A Hammer Fell in Jerusalem: Anathema

I didn’t have poster art for my first two films. I contacted someone to work on art for my first film, but that fell through. Since I normally can’t afford to pay people properly, I designed this poster art for my third short film (it was a very experimental effort for me and is dear to my heart), A Hammer Fell in Jerusalem: Anathema (be forewarned, it’s half an hour long and is a silent film.) I can’t draw and I’m not a fan of Photoshop posters where it’s just heads looking pensive blah, blah, blah… While it’s pretty obvious I’m not that kind of artist, I think it turned out pretty awesome.

I’m super glad that Bonni Reid’s doing my art for Stella Buio, though, you have no idea. There’s no way I could put out something that I would be happy with for this film.

Comic Con Badge Resale - Last Chance

adapia:

Got this email from Comic-Con International, so if you want a badge for this year’s SDCC, this is the time to get it!

The Comic-Con Member ID website will be closing May 24th (5:30 Pacific Time: PT) in advance of our cancelled and returned badge resale. The badge resale will not take place over the Memorial Day weekend or on Memorial Day. If you know someone who would like to participate in the badge resale, but has not yet signed up for a Member ID, please instruct them to sign-up as soon as possible. The only way to participate in the badge sale is to have a Member ID.

We have struggled with how to offer our returned badges for sale this year. Because of time constraints our choices were to not have a resale this year or use the online system we have in place. We know there are a lot of you counting on the resale to attend Comic-Con so we have decided to have a resale and to use the system we currently have in place. Since we received so few returned Comic-Con 4-day badges, we decided to split them into single day badges to accommodate more people who want to attend this year.

We will have 5,000 single day badges available for purchase.”
