Criterion to Release Lynch’s Mulholland Drive
I used to hate getting notes like this in the cans when I was a projectionist…some of them were really condescending and we would inevitably get yelled at by the customers for the film being too loud. But if I had been a projectionist when Mulholland Drive came out, I would’ve taken this sheet downstairs and said, “DAVID LYNCH WANTS IT THIS WAY, YOU PLEB. DAVID LYNCH IS MY FRIEND.”
