I finished the rough cut of the short last night. It clocks out at 12 minutes and 23 seconds. That’ll probably change when I head in to adjust timing and go into the sound edit.
I’m going to create a scratch music track, though, so I can send it to Bonni Reid so she can have a basic idea of the film for the poster, then in a couple of days I’ll do the foley and sound adjustments, decide whether or not to go back and get any pick-ups or reshoots, and send it off to Wheat to see how he’d do the colour correction and my brother Shawn for music.
For those that might be curious, that’s my standard keyboard covered with a thin rubber Final Cut overlay from KB Covers (no, I’m not being compensated for this mention.) I have one for my laptop, too. While I kinda feel like Ripley when she’s typing on the keyboard at the console trying to talk to MOTHER (am I the only one who thinks her typing is kind of awkward in that scene?), this thing has been invaluable.
