Attention Orlando-area people (and those willing to drive to Orlando), my newest short film, Stella Buio, will be playing at the Enzian Theatre’s monthly FilmSlam on the 14th of this month (being October.) That’s a Sunday, by the way. I will be there as will members of the cast (LINNEA QUIGLEY IS NOT SCHEDULED TO APPEAR. I just thought I’d get that out there now.) Woohoo!!

Film: Locked In
Synopsis: Locked In is a film that tells the story of an ordinary family on a deceptively ordinary day.
About the Filmmaker: Valeria became a filmmaker after graduating from King’s College London. She has worked on numerous documentaries and TV shows for UK’s major broadcasters and has written and directed two short films. She is now preparing her debut feature film while also managing the subtitling company she created to bring films to international audiences.
The Viscera Film Festival is open for submissions to our 2013 event and tour! Our festival focuses on women who direct horror films. A man may direct or co-direct the film so long as a woman fills the roles of writer/producer. Transgendered women and those who openly identify as a woman are very much welcome!
Read our rules before submitting!

This year, one lucky feature will be shown at our 2013 event in Los Angeles! To submit your film for consideration, please click here.

No Wonder I'm a Director; or My friend Vanessa and I reenacted a few scenes from famous Oregon-lensed films.
My friend Vanessa and I went on a tour of locations used in the film The Goonies when we went to Astoria, Oregon a few weeks ago. While there, we went to the Oregon Film Museum which has a section called the Hot Set where you and your friends can reenact eight different scenes from films that were totally, or in part, filmed in Oregon such as The Shining and Twilight and, of course, The Goonies.
I won’t post the one of just her because I don’t know how she feels about it. These are the ones with me in them because I’m like a honey badger.
Me as Jack Torrance in The Shining.
Vanessa as a Fratelli and myself as Mama Fratelli in The Goonies. (For the record…I don’t even have a license. Can you tell?)
Vanessa as Edward and myself as Bella in Twilight. (This one is a bit long because the prompt moved ahead and I hadn’t noticed. My fault!)
Look at what arrived today! They’re adorable and awesome!
JustUs will be playing DoA Bloodbath IV!
Thanks to a friend who happened to notice, I’ve found out that JustUs will be playing the DoA Bloodbath IV Film Festival in Dallas, Texas at the historic Texas Theatre! Told you JustUs wasn’t dead yet! ;D
The screening date is October 14 at 2:55pm. My goodness, they’re precise.

Wellywood Woman has a new interview with Shannon Lark!
Wellywood Woman, a film blog out of New Zealand, has posted a fabulous new interview with Viscera founder, and all-around superwoman, Shannon Lark wherein she talks about the Viscera Organization’s mission and goals as well as a little bit about Viscera Film Festival sister events Etheria (which just had a wildly successful debut in Boston this past weekend!) and the upcoming, explosive Full Throttle (more details coming soon!)
Is reTumbl a thing? If not, it should be. Anyway, this interview with Shannon Lark (who is freakin’ awesome, btw) gives a great quick history behind (and some of the future of) the Viscera Organization, which I’m proud to be a part of.
